Your I-ON installation day: what to expect
From booking to your first speed test: what to keep ready, what the engineer does and how long an I-ON installation takes.
Getting connected is simple. Here is what happens from the moment you book to your first speed test, so you know exactly what to expect on the day.
Step 1: Check availability and book
Start by entering your pincode and choosing a plan. I-ON home broadband is available in Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai, and we confirm whether your address is serviceable and the earliest installation date before you book. Not sure which speed to pick? Read how much speed your home really needs or explore plans.
After you book, our team contacts you to fix an installation slot that suits you.
Step 2: Keep your documents ready
- A standard ID proof.
- An address proof for the installation address.
Both are needed to activate your new connection.
Step 3: Get your home ready
- Make sure someone is at home to approve where the equipment and access points go.
- Think about where you use the internet most: the living room TV, a home office, a study corner.
- Clear the way to the spot where the cable will come into your home.
- Keep your devices handy, so you can connect them once the network is live.
Step 4: On the day
Our engineer starts by mapping your floor plan. Instead of placing the router wherever the cable ends, they place access points where your dead zones actually are, so the signal reaches the rooms you use. A standard home installation is completed in a single visit in most cases.
Once you are connected, run a speed test next to the router and in the rooms that matter most. It is the easiest way to see how the network performs where you actually use it.
Access points go where your dead zones are, not wherever the cable ends.
What comes with your connection
- Free installation is offered on new connections. Confirm current offers when you book.
- Every connection comes with a free-to-use router.
- Every plan has unlimited data, with no fair-usage cap.
- Support is available 24/7, with 120+ local support points.
After you are connected
Your account dashboard shows your plan, usage and bills, and you can pay through UPI, cards or net banking. You can change your speed any time from your account, and add OTT and IPTV packs to your plan.
If a room still has weak Wi-Fi after a few days, read how to fix Wi-Fi dead zones or contact support, and our engineers can re-plan where the access points go.
