Airport Wi-Fi for passengers, staff and tenants

Passenger, staff, tenant and operational networks across the terminal, with one-time code login, session records kept in India and engineers on the ground.

WHY BUSINESSES KEEPS COMING BACK

Trusted by Millions

I-ON has a fantastic team and has proven capability to support highly critical airport operations.

Chairman Airports – GMR Group.

Coverage is not the problem. Density is.

Airport Wi-Fi solutions come down to three things: device density at the peak hour, whether operational traffic keeps a lane of its own, and how quickly an engineer can get airside. Most terminals are specified on area covered instead.

A hold area during a flight bank is a different problem from a floor plan. Access points placed by area rather than by dwell time put a passenger's cloud backup in the same lane as a boarding agent's scan gun at gate 12.

I-ON manages the network infrastructure - from the backbone and switches to every access point within it. Lanes stay separate, sized against the day's flight schedule and cabled in night windows. A single point of contact is available for all support requirements.

KEY FEATURES

One terminal, four separate networks

Keep leased line and SD-WAN as capabilities here, not separate pages.

Per-passenger bandwidth

Every passenger gets a fair share, even when a full hold area boards at once.

Built for peak density

Capacity planned against the day's flight schedule, not the terminal's floor area.

Seamless connectivity

One login from check-in to the gate. No reconnecting as passengers move.

Separated traffic

Passengers, staff, retail tenants and airport systems each keep their own lane.

I-On guarantee

Surveyed, installed and managed by I-ON. No equipment for you to buy or maintain.

Reliable

99.5% committed uptime, monitored 24×7, with most faults traced and resolved remotely.

Secure

Rogue hotspots are continuously monitored and isolated. Seven-layer security, standard.

24/7 support

A single point of contact for support, backed by a strong engineering and operations team.

Walk one zone with our engineers

We walk the zone on foot, then send a proposal within 5 working days. No upfront cost.

Frequently asked questions

How do you plan Wi-Fi coverage across an airport terminal?

On foot, zone by zone. Check-in queues, security hold areas, gates and aerobridges differ in ceiling height, dwell time and device count. We size against the flight schedule, so three wide-bodies boarding inside an hour is the design case, not the daily average. Coverage is committed per zone in writing.

Every user is verified before access and every session logged. We onboard passengers by one-time code to a phone number or email, so a passenger without an Indian SIM still connects in under 10 seconds. Fourteen fields per session, kept 24 months in India, as the licence conditions require.

They sit in their own lanes, separated at the switch and the edge router, not just at the access point. Operational systems carry no route into passenger traffic and none comes back the other way. A ground handler’s scan gun never queues behind someone’s cloud backup.

Only what the licence requires is collected – the identity fields tied to a session, nothing about what a passenger browses. The data sits on Indian infrastructure, access is by named administrator and logged, and records are purged on the agreed schedule. Passengers see a plain-language notice and consent at the portal before they connect.

I-ON operates as Honeycomb Telnet Private Limited under a DoT Category-A ISP licence, the highest category of authorisation in India. Networks are run to CERT-In direction on logging and incident reporting, with data held in India. The full certification and audit pack is issued with any tender or vendor onboarding submission.

I-ON built Namma WiFi with the Government of Karnataka in 2014, the first free public Wi-Fi network in India. Aviation and large-venue work includes passenger Wi-Fi delivered alongside WAISL, and the Aerocity network. Reference sites and contacts are shared on request, and past-performance certificates go in with any bid.

Yes. The portal carries your logo and colours and I-ON stays behind the scenes. The page can hold sponsor or retail placements, and you get footfall by zone and by hour on a live dashboard, with a monthly report in plain language.

99.5% uptime, response time and restoration time are written into the contract, with credit back when we miss. Monitoring runs 24×7 and the mean remote fix is about 30 minutes, so most faults close before a complaint reaches your operations desk. Escalation contacts are named per shift.

That is your choice. Buy the equipment outright, or take it as Wi-Fi as a Service, where I-ON provides, installs, monitors and maintains it for a monthly fee and replaces faulty units next day. Capacity is contracted either per user or as a dedicated leased line. Installation is phased zone by zone in agreed night windows, so no gate closes for it.
